I started this internship during the second semester of my senior year. Even though my time here was short, I’ve learned how to collaborate like a real agency and got to experience what it’s like to lead a project from start to finish as a creative director intern. I was approached by one of my teachers, who taught the senior capstone class, who needed someone to oversee the creative development of a networking event that the department was hosting. After that project, I stayed and continued to help him start and develop an advertising campaign for the department.
The Sandage Symposium Networking Event
As a Creative Director intern for the event, I was responsible for developing a creative concept based on the theme of the event, which was “Connecting to the Future of Advertising”. I had to come up with a concept that matches the look and feel of the theme. And after multiple drafts and working back and forth with the art director, we have a “Connect the dots” concept where we connect graphics that symbolized different advertising field to each other to show that advertising is an ecosystem where one path can lead you to another opportunity.
